Why participate?

Speaking is one of the most important English skills, if not the single most important one. You need it to successfully participate in class, to communicate with strangers when on holiday, to talk to international students and of course for several university or work-related contexts. And those are just a few examples.

However, many students find that speaking is a particularly difficult skill because you have to react very fast and don’t have time to think about your answer for too long, let alone take notes. But the good news is: Practise makes perfect! The more you speak, the better you get.

The idea of this club is simple: improving your English speaking skills in a relaxed atmosphere by talking about interesting current issues from around the world.

Oh and also, there will be tea and biscuits… if that doesn’t convince you, I don’t know what will.
